Terms of Service
Last updated: January 9, 2026
These terms govern your use of Babbl, our Chrome Extension for real-time subtitles in Google Meet. By installing or using Babbl, you agree to these terms. If you disagree, don't use the service.
1. The Service
Babbl captures audio from your Google Meet tab, converts speech to text, translates it, and displays subtitles in real time. We rely on third-party providers for transcription and translation. The quality depends on audio clarity, speaker accents, background noise, and other factors outside our control.
We do our best to keep Babbl running, but outages happen. We don't guarantee uptime or accuracy.
2. Accounts
You can try Babbl without signing in. To use account-scoped usage limits and approvals, sign in with your Google account. You're responsible for activity under your account. If you think someone else is using it, let us know right away.
3. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use Babbl to break the law or violate anyone's rights.
- Record, redistribute, or sell the subtitles we generate.
- Reverse-engineer, tamper with, or overload our systems.
- Share your account credentials or resell access.
We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules without notice.
4. Usage Limits
Babbl may enforce usage limits, fair-use controls, and account approvals to keep the service reliable. We may adjust limits over time, including changes needed for abuse prevention or service stability.
We may update these limits and controls with reasonable notice when practical.
5. Intellectual Property
Babbl, its code, design, and branding belong to us. You get a personal, non-exclusive license to use the extension for its intended purpose. That's it. You don't get rights to copy, modify, or distribute any part of it.
The subtitles themselves are translations of what was said in your meeting. We don't claim ownership over your conversations.
6. Disclaimers
Babbl is provided "as is." We make no warranties, express or implied, about reliability, accuracy, or fitness for any particular purpose. Speech recognition and translation are imperfect. Don't rely on Babbl for anything where mistakes could cause harm: legal proceedings, medical consultations, financial advice, and so on.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent allowed by law, we're not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Our total liability for any claim related to Babbl won't exceed the amount (if any) you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.
8. Termination
You can stop using Babbl at any time by uninstalling the extension. We can terminate or suspend your access if you violate these terms or if we decide to discontinue the service. If we shut down entirely, we'll give reasonable notice.
9. Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced in the extension or by email. Continued use after a change means you accept the new terms.
10. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware.
